20ft & 30ft Expandable Container Houses for Office and Accommodation
In mid-2024, the GS Housing team successfully delivered a comprehensive camp consisting of 20-foot and 30-foot expandable container homes in a challenging environment in the Republic of Vanuatu. This project not only tested the performance of our products but also demonstrated our ability to rapidly deploy solutions in remote locations. The entire camp was designed to provide workers and management with an efficient space that combines accommodation, work, and living.
Targeted Project Solutions:
20-foot Units for Staff Living: Our 20-foot containers (5990 × 6300 × 2480 mm) feature integrated dry and wet bathrooms, a compact and efficient kitchen, and a dining area that seats eight. This integrated design, based on our experience in previous projects, significantly improves the convenience of life for employees in remote locations.
30-foot Units for Core Offices: The 30-foot containers (9000 × 6420 × 2480 mm) serve as the nerve center for project management. Based on our understanding of the construction site’s office needs, we designed a dedicated project manager’s office, open workstations, and small meeting rooms to ensure efficient and organized management.
Why do GS Housing’s expansion boxes meet such challenges? Our core advantages are:
True modular flexibility: In the Vanuatu project, all units were prefabricated in the factory. After shipping to the site, installation took only a few hours. This efficiency directly reduced the client’s on-site construction period by at least 30%.
Proven comfortable space: Our double-wing expansion design is more than just theory. During transportation, it resembles a standard shipping container, significantly reducing logistics costs and complexity. Once unfolded, the interior usable area increases by over 50%, providing users with a spacious experience similar to that of a traditional building.
Designed for durability and safety: The box’s high-strength steel frame and fire-resistant, insulated wall panels are proven, not laboratory-proven. Its excellent insulation provides a comfortable indoor temperature in Vanuatu’s high temperature and high humidity. Its robust structure withstands local climate challenges and is reusable throughout its lifecycle, significantly reducing amortized costs.
This expandable container house launched in 2024 is based on these profound project accumulations. It combines “space efficiency, flexible deployment and cost control” in one, and has become our star product for solving temporary and semi-permanent building needs.
